Small Inventories/Simple Needs

Other E-Commerce solutions (great for smaller inventories or if you just need to take a donation) includes using services such as PayPal, Mals-E, and 2Checkout. These type of solutions are a bit less expensive than Miva but not as powerful and feature rich. What is the solution best for my company?

We recommend Miva for clients with a big inventory who need sophisticated features (coupons, PayPal payment option, hidden area for product downloads, stats, affiliate programs, B2B and B2C pricing, inventory management, UPS shipping calculation, mini carts and so much more) as well as a very intuitive *point and click* administration area. As a Miva shopping cart customer, you will have direct access to your store administration area where you can upload your product pictures, product weight, prices, information, etc. to your shopping cart - all done from within your Web browser (your cart resides on a 128 bit encrypted server, we lease the SSL certificate!). When an order is placed both you and your customer will receive an E-mail with all the information you will need to process the order including taxes and shipping. It's THAT simple! You can set up your store with our convenient turnkey solution or have us develop it for you.

2Checkout, Mals and PayPal all work well for many different needs. 2Checkout offers recurring billing which allows for *subscription* based services. You can create *buy one now* buttons with 2Checkout and PayPal. These services will take a percentage (except Mals) of each sale you make through your site and add a per transaction fee in some cases, just like using your credit card processor in your brick and mortar store.
